Antique Bottles Setting Record Prices!

Just read this in the Sacramento Bee: American Bottle Auctions has just had another very successful auction, selling a "Favorite Bitters" from Powell & Stutenroth for $64,000 -- nice!  The news made the Antique Trader, too.

ABA is owned by Jeff Wichman, who as I have mentioned before, does a great job of getting lots of press and trade coverage for his auctions, which helps the entire bottle collecting hobby -- so keep it up, Jeff!

Check out the ABA website, and be sure to read the blog/articles -- lots of great antique bottle info, stories, and PHOTOS!

Here's what Jeff says about his recent auction, the solid prices, and the hobby: "What that tells me is the bottle market is strong and people are willing to fork out big bucks for bottles. The auctions just seem to be getting better and better."

I agree, and think this is just another example of how active the bottle collecting hobby is -- which is why you need to attend this year's FOHBC NATIONAL BOTTLE SHOW (in Ohio, in August -- get all the Nat'l Show details here.) There are going to be some amazing bottles there!
